Should I sell or buy first?

PromoPromotion: LJ Hooker Southern Cell Swift Giveawaytion Period: The period between 12:00am NZST 01 June 2026 to 11:59pm NZST 20 December 2026.

The Prize: Super Black Pearl 2026 Suzuki Swift 1.2 5dr GL CVT Hatch Registration RTR14 (includes ORC/registration/WOF/fuel, excludes optional extras, insurance and ongoing operating costs).

 

Definitions:

Qualifying Appraisal Entry: A valid sales appraisal conducted by a real estate agent from LJ Hooker Southern Cell. Appraisal entry will be null and void if the property appraised is listed with another agency during the promotion period.

Qualifying Listing Entry: A valid and exclusive listing with LJ Hooker Southern Cell resulting from a sales appraisal conducted by a salesperson from LJ Hooker Southern Cell. Agency Agreement: means an executed, written contract with an LJ Hooker Southern Cell salesperson for the provision of property sales services that are compliant with all legislation and regulations relevant to the conduct of a real estate agent in the location of the property.

Qualifying Sold Entry: A legally binding sale & purchase agreement resulting from the eligible appraised and listed property.

Eligible Entrants: Entry is only open to New Zealand residents who are 18 years & over & own at least one (1) residential property in the Southern Cell catchment areas, New Zealand & who are not:

  • Directors, officers, management members or employees (& the immediate family members of directors, officers, management members or employees) of the Promoter, LJ Hooker or any of its associated companies; or otherwise involved in the conduct or management of the Promotion.

No entry fee is charged by the Promoter to enter the Promotion. Where entry is allowed online, there is no additional cost to enter the Promotion other than any cost paid by the entrant to access the website or social media platform of entry via their Internet service provider. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any fraudulent, incomplete, ineligible or non-compliant entries.

How to enter

To enter the Promotion, Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotion Period:

Own at least one (1) residential, rural, lifestyle or commercial property in the LJ Hooker Southern Cell catchment area, New Zealand

Book and complete an Appraisal for a property they own with a salesperson from LJ Hooker Southern Cell (note that an appraisal entry will be null and void if the property appraised is listing with another agency during the promotion period); or

Sign an agency agreement with any office from LJ Hooker Southern Cell; or

Sign a legally binding sale & purchase agreement on the eligible property.

Each Eligible Entrant who book and completes an appraisal, listing and/or selling during the promotion period will be entered int the Prize Draw.

Entries Permitted:

Eligible Entrants will receive entries based on the following actions for each property they own, regardless of property type (e.g., residential, rural, lifestyle, commercial):

  • Qualifying Appraisal Entry: One (1) entry will be awarded for each eligible property appraised by a LJ Hooker Southern Cell salesperson during the Promotion Period.
  • Qualifying Listing Entries: Two (2) additional entries will be awarded for each property listed for sale with an LJ Hooker Southern Cell salesperson during the Promotion Period.
  • Qualifying Sold Entries: Two (2) additional entries will be awarded for each property sold through the LJ Hooker Southern Cell during the Promotion Period, provided the sale is completed (settlement finalised) by 20 December 2026, at 11:59 PM NZST.

Each entry must be submitted in accordance with the entry requirements outlined in these Terms & Conditions. Multiple entries are permitted per Eligible Entrant, with each unique property qualifying for up to five (5) total entries (1 for appraisal, +2 for listing, +2 for selling), provided all conditions are met.

 

Prize draw

All eligible entries will be entered into a random draw conducted under police supervision on Tuesday, 22 December 2026 at 10:00 AM NZDT at LJ Hooker Oamaru premises, 193 Thames Street, Oamaru. One participant will be randomly selected as the “Winning Entrant” during a “live” draw and notified as per the notification process outlined in these Terms & Conditions. The Winning Entrant will be contacted by their Southern Cell office by 12.00 PM on Tuesday, 22 December 2026 and must be able to collect the car from the LJ Hooker Oamaru premises, 193 Thames Street, Oamaru preferably by 12.00 PM on Thursday, 24 December 2026, or another arranged time suitable to the promoter and themselves.

Unclaimed Prize Draw:

In the unlikely event that the winner in the original prize draw held on Tuesday, 22 December 2026 does not claim the prize, all eligible entries will be entered into a further random draw conducted under police supervision on Tuesday, 26 January 2027 at 10:00 AM NZDT at LJ Hooker Oamaru premises, 193 Thames Street, Oamaru. One participant will be randomly selected as the “Winning Entrant” during a “live” draw and notified as per the notification process outlined in these Terms & Conditions. The Winning Entrant will be contacted by their Southern Cell office by 12.00 PM on Tuesday, 26 January 2027 and must be able to collect the car from the LJ Hooker Oamaru premises, 193 Thames Street, Oamaru by 12.00 PM on Thursday, 02 February 2027.

Publication of Winners

The winner consents to the use of their name and photograph for promotion and publicity purposes without compensation and having that photograph published in the newspaper and/or on the promoter’s or Southern Cell office social media platforms for the remainder of December 2026 and during January 2027.

Collection of Personal Information & Privacy

Any personal information collected will be held by Southern Cell in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and used only for the purposes that are required for appraising, listing and/or selling your property, to administer the competition, verify entries and contact the prize winner. Extra Information

The winner acknowledges that the Super Black Pearl 2026 Suzuki Swift 1.2 5dr GL CVT Hatch being given away has been used as a demonstration vehicle and taken to events for display, thus the vehicle will have demonstration kilometers on the speedometer. The promoter will have the decals professionally removed and the car exterior and interior professionally groomed before the winner is announced and the car is collected as the winner’s prize.
